sumofiber - TV service outage – Incident details

one of the redundant circuits came up at 9:45PM and service is restored.

there is a 48 count and a 288 count fiber in California that had been burned, the cables have been cut and splicing is underway.

we have redundant circuits with ZAYO and LUMEN but they apparently share the same route at this end location.

National channels are working from out TV feed in ATLANTA. but the locals are not passing over the EVPN tunnel.

we will revisit this offline, after the California circuits are back up. we dont want to interrupt the national feed again to try and fix.

We apologize for this, and expect the local TV service to be restored later tonight.

We will make sure this doesnt happen in the future.

we have activated a spare TV circuit we had in Atlanta for future usage and are backhauling the TV back to Salt Lake.

National channels are working

we are working to feed the locals now.

from lumen: Field Operations is on site and will test the affected fiber span to confirm the presence of a fault and determine the approximate location of the suspected damage.
